Erin's Tutoring

When working with a new student, I like to start off discussing their previous experience with the material, how they learn best, what they feel confident with, which areas they are struggling with, what their goals and objectives are through tutoring, how they want to structure sections, etc.  After going through some of the more logistical, preliminary steps, I then like to watch the student complete a few problems to get a better gauge of where they are at and where/how I can help out best.  We will typically work through a few questions together and at the end of the first session, we can discuss how the session went, what I can improve on, and what we want to try for the next one.  After the first two sessions or so of trial and error, we typically start to fall into more of a routine.
