MNM TUTORING
About
Hi. My students call me Mrs. MNM. I have a Masters in Special Education. I began volunteering at the age of 9. I volunteered from 9 to 18 every year helping the swim teacher with the special education students. I have volunteeted with Special Olympics, summer camp for special needs as a life guard, canoe instructor, art teacher, and counselor, i was an adult water aerobics and outings leader for sdults in group homes..... I worked my way through colkege as a daycare teacher, teacher's assistant, and babysitter, while raising two children with disabilities Since graduating I have taught prek through 12th grade, usually tutoring for the district after school to 10 hours per week.
I have taught just about every area of special education. My only limitation is that I am not strong in high level Math and Science. I specialized in working with students who had a reputation of bad behavior and being nonproductive. I worked with many students that were diagnosed with Autism, conduct disorders, ADHD, or had behavioral issues due to abuse or neglect. I also taught several hearing impaired or deaf students because I know some sign language.
I am presently retired and enjoying some tutoring and advocating for students and families in the educational setting. Education has always been a place where I feel happiness.
I enjoy a challenge and am good at relating to students. I help them find out what they are good at and use that to build on, celebrating along the way so they see snd remember how far they have come. The one on one experience allows them to learn at a faster pace than they can in the classroom.
I look forward to talking to you and seeing how I might be able to help.
