Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First assess learning styles and student interests. What makes the student tick? What are they curious about? Does the student think they are an auditory or visual learner?
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
B.S. in Computer Science, concentration General Business

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Free initial consultation over phone/FaceTime, about 30 minutes. Afterwards, $20-40/hour depending on student age, topic, and task complexity.
For assistance with specific paper writing: Free 20-30 minute consultation, $20/hour for setting up an approach and outline where we work together on building a strategy to write the paper, $30/hour for editing, proofreading, and citation checking. I will not write the paper for the student; my intent is to make you/them a better writer for life! Guaranteed score of 80/B or your money back.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in the military when I learned how much satisfaction it was to see people have "ah ha!" moments when I shared something I knew with them. I was eventually assigned by a former commander to develop a curriculum to teach young enlisted personnel how to analyze a variety of data sources and synthesize it into digestable reports.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have mentored kids ages 9-11 in a non-education setting, and have taught mostly young adults from 18-23.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am a student pilot, and proud that I am about to earn my private pilot license. Last year, I flew three times from the DC area to Charlottesville and back!
