About
I have an RN, a BA Psychology, a BA in Sociology, a Masters in Public Administration, and a Masters in Education. I have been a Licensed State of VA Teacher since 2006.
If I am teaching or tutoring, that student’s success is my success. I will be available to support my students as much as they need from me.
There is nothing as satisfying to me as my student's success. Giving them the self confidence they need is my favorite part.
I taught 6 years at Larchmont Elementary School in Norfolk, VA where all of my students left my classroom reading and writing on or above the required level.
I had great relationships with my students and their parents.
I then went to teach with Seatack Elementary in Virginia Beach and again success for my students was my mantra.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I received an email from a student and his family. I taught him in 2nd grade and he just graduated High School with honors. He told me that he often thinks about how kind I was to him and how I made learning like playing. He said that every time he had a teacher that he had trouble learning from, he would think about the learning methods I taught him and how many times I made him believe he could do it. He told me he received a full academic scholarship and all I could say was “You did it!”
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Try to contact someone they previously tutored and see what they have to say about their experience.
