About
Hello there! My name is Daria. Having had a classical education in my early years, I developed a fondness for both science and liberal arts and my hope is to be able to tutor young students in those areas to show them that there's a little fun to be had everywhere.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I start working with a new student, I like to ask them for a list of the top three things they would like to achieve in our sessions. From there, I take a little time to look over the books they use and if they have any example exams or previous work so I can assess if a teacher has particular requirements. If I am helping to edit essays, I like to get a sense of the student's writing style to make sure that I can retain as much of their individual voice as possible during the process.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently working towards my degree at the University of Virginia - a Biology B.A. with a minor in kineseology. My classes require me to continually be up to date in scientific fields for research as well as writing proficiency and test taking skills.
Previously I have worked as a peer tutor for college level chemistry and essay writing/refining
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$60/hr is my typical rate for a student. Adjustments can be made if there are multiple students in the same family/study group.
What types of students have you worked with?
My experience is primarily centered around high school upperclassmen and college underclassmen.
