Math/Science/Basic Learning Tutoring
About
I am a 22 y/o graduate student with a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Biology. I graduated from VCU in December 2018 and am pursuing a medical career. My passion has always been teaching math and science because it comes so easy to me! I want to help others get to that point!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I first meet a student, I like to begin with a conversation that involves everything BUT the main scope of tutoring. It is important to understand how your students communicate and decipher their modes of comfort before trying to teach them anything. Next, I like to introduce myself and my hobbies, get a feel for where they think the struggle lies and building trust that I am not there to grade/judge their efforts, but an "aid" to help them succeed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a Teaching Assistant (TA) since the start of undergrad at VCU. I majored in Forensic Science, with a focus on Biology. I have TA'd for every subject within my major (Analytical Reasoning, Biology, Chemistry, English, Math, Organic Chemistry, Science and Statistics).
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I do not have a standard pricing for my lessons since in the past I have always been employed through the university.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from Elementary to College.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
There are loopholes in finding answers! There is never one way to get to the end goal, our job is to figure out what works for you!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
"I don't get it," doesn't help me understand either! So instead, we will do example problems to target the exact obstacles that are stopping you from succeeding.
