Hello! My name is Hope, and I am a licensed Special Education teacher in Virginia with six years of experience working with students in grades 6–8. Throughout my career, I have supported students with a wide range of learning styles, academic needs, and abilities while helping them build confidence, independence, and success both inside and outside the classroom.
I am looking for summer childcare opportunities where I can provide a safe, engaging, and positive environment for children. In addition to supervision and daily care, I enjoy planning activities, encouraging outdoor play, supporting academic growth, reading with children, helping with organization and routines, and creating fun learning experiences tailored to each child’s interests.
As a special education teacher, I have extensive experience working with students who have learning differences, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and academic skill deficits. I regularly provide individualized instruction, accommodations, and scaffolds to help students access grade-level content and reach their goals. I also have experience targeting phonics and reading deficits through evidence-based reading intervention programs designed specifically for struggling readers. As a case manager, I collaborate with families and educators, monitor student progress, track goals, and adjust supports to ensure students continue moving forward.

My background in special education has taught me the importance of flexibility, clear communication, and meeting children where they are. Whether a child needs academic support, organizational strategies, confidence-building, or simply a fun and structured summer experience, I believe in identifying their strengths, supporting their areas of growth, and helping them succeed.
