Emily Steindl

Hi! My name is Emily Steindl and I recently graduated summa cum laude from James Madison University with a BA in Musical Theatre and a Creative Writing minor. I consider English (specifically grammar and writing) to be my specialty and am enthusiastic about helping students prepare for the SAT and ACT, as well as write their college essays. However, I also excelled in science, math, and Spanish in school and would be happy to offer my services in those areas as well. My tutoring approach differs from student to student as I try to cater to one's individual learning needs. I like to listen to my student's struggles and concerns before jumping right into work so that I know how to best assist them and which methods to utilize or avoid. I am a very patient and compassionate individual and will create a safe and supportive environment that encourages growth and an amiable student x tutor dynamic. Since I am a recent graduate myself, I am not far removed from the education system and remember the stress of high school clearly. Therefore, I find it easy to relate to students and offer words of motivation that I found particularly useful when I was in their position a few years ago.
