About
My name is Austin Holyfield, and I have an Associates Degree in Engineering from Northern Virginia Community College. Currently, I am studying to get a B.S. in Systems and Industrial Engineering at George Mason University.
During my last semester at NOVA, I was employed as a math tutor for Calculus 1, but ended up teaching the subjects; algebra, applied pre-calculus, pre-calculus w/ trigonometry, Applied Calculus, Calculus 1, 2, and 3, Linear Algebra, Elementary Differential equations, and Physics.
I like to go with a students own pace, and if you need me to explain something multiple times, I will. Learning is hard and connecting math together is challenging, so I have no qualms about slowing down or speeding up. Typically, if a student doesn’t understand my first explanation, I will try to explain in a different way.
Honestly, I didn’t know I would like Tutoring so much, I just wish I became a tutor earlier.
