I’ve worked as an elementary classroom teacher in Va and NJ as well as a literacy enrichment teacher and have taught all three of my children to read. I have a passion for struggling readers and for helping strong readers take their comprehension and fluency even further. I have a masters in elementary education with 15 years experience.

I have a passion and heart for people, especially kids. Being able to aid and guide them, whether it's reading, math, geograhy, science , the English languuage, it is all so rewarding to me and I plan on always working with children.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I spend time getting to know the student so s/he is comfortable with me. Depending on the age of the student, I use games and manipulatives.
Then I move into a time of evaluation through testing, informal and formal. The student can also share with me what s/he is looking forward to mastering.
Then I formulate a plan and a timeframe.

Masters in Elementary Education, K-6
DRA (Developmental Reading Assessment) testing training for K-5th
