About
My teaching and tutoring philosophy is, every person learns in their own unique way, there isn't just one formula to apply that suddenly makes learning a breeze. In order to learn, improve or excel at anything, finding out how you do is the first step. Then, tackling the subject based on that individualized style unlocks so many out of the box ways that we, as a team, can use.
I have Master of Education degrees in all subjects, and years of experience working with students in over 200 additional subject areas (learning is not just a four subject world). I know what it is like to be both the teacher and student, and I always find that I connect with my students in an honest and personalized manner.
Trust that you are in great hands!
I love what I do because I'm able to reach students in a way that suits their unique learning styles and understand them as people overall. It's easy to forget that the teacher was a student, too. I believe that this is important to remember, and know that when we meet challenges and successes together, we do so as a team. Teaching is my passion and purpose; this drives me to work with others to show them just how talented they truly are!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I don't feel that a typical and strict process is the approach to teaching, it's actually the antithesis of what I believe when meeting, and, working with a student.
I believe that trust is the basis of a working and productive relationship. That may happen right away, or slowly build as our work continues.
I like to explain my "rules against the rules" that I've noticed bring about a very questionable look at first, followed by comfort. Students realize they play a part in the process.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold five Master of Education degrees: English, Social Sciences, Science, Mathematics and Special Education (all exceptionalities). As well, I have a B.A. in Communication, a Minor in Psychology and Minor in Sociology. I have taught, tutored and mentored for over 16 years.
