Simplified Japanese
About
I've studied Japanese for about 5 years, passed the AP Japanese test with a 5, passed the 2019 JLPT N2 with an A on both sections, and I currently plan to continue my Japanese education in 2020 as an East Asian Studies major. My passion for the language constantly drives me to learn more, and if you are also interested in learning Japanese, then I would love to share my passion for this language with you..

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first thing to do will be to set a goal, make a plan to achieve it, and then make it happen. For example, if you are currently a student in a Japanese class, our goal might be to improve your grades. So we'll analyze what areas are the most challenging, and focus our sessions on building those strengths.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied Japanese for 4 years in high school, after which I passed the AP exam with a 5. In 2019, I self-studied Japanese in order to take the JLPT N2 (the 2nd highest level of the JLPT), which I was successful in passing.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Due to the coronavirus, I am currently only having online lessons, which are $30/hr.
How did you get started teaching?
In the 7th grade, I realized I had an interest in being a teacher. That interest has endured over the past 10+ years, so I decided to begin tutoring in subjects that I am passionate about.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've given 1-on-1 tutoring to high school and college age students before, mostly in Japanese, but also in introductory physics.
