Russian Tutoring

Hello, my name is Sophia, I am a bilingual high school student! Growing up, my first language was Russian. I grew up learning about Russian culture and history, breaking the simple barriers of just comprehending the language. After attending Russian school Erudite for ten years of my life, I began to assist the teachers and work with kids, from which I developed a knowledge of how to teach such a difficult language. Not only do I have the ability to connect with young adults, but I can also teach them something a textbook cannot. I believe the understanding of culture, geography, and figures of speech are what truly make a student fluent in a language. Having taken a course on exam prep for the NEWL (National Examinations in World Languages) exam, I have the materials and the knowledge to train your child accordingly. Over the years, I have developed an extremely patient and hard-working ethic but most importantly the excitement and enthusiasm to teach Russian.

There is nothing I enjoy more than spreading and discussing the language I love. Being an extroverted person has allowed me to easily communicate with various age groups and provoke engaging conversations. Languages, which are typically viewed as arduous tasks, can easily be made entertaining with the right material. My goal as a tutor is to bring that passion and excitement into every child studying Russian.
