I am a tutor for about 6-years now. Trained and experienced under Elementary and High-School teachers. I hold a Bachelors degree in the Teaching Profession with a minor in Childhood Studies. Aside from tutoring children from grades K-12, I volunteer along teachers to ensure my resources and teaching methods are up to date with current academic standards.
My focus and aim as a professional tutor is to develop confidence and inititive among students with a student focused teaching approach that ensures their academic success. Additionally, my classes support student learning by providing them with lessons, material, and assessments according to their academic needs.
As for students who are facing academic obstacles at school, I provide brief and precise explanations that strengthen their learning goals at schools. In correspondence, I maintain a two-way communication path with parents at all times to answer any questions and provide updates regarding their childs education.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My first step when working with new children is to introduce myself, and take the first step in developing trust and friendship with the child. I would play a game or activity with the child to get to know about them and their likes and dislikes, this would allow me to get an understanding of thier interests and see what is their best way of learning for which I should develop and integrate proper teaching methods.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have graduated (2021) with a Bachelors Degree in the Liberal Arts of the Teaching Profession (K-6), I have volunteered at elementary schools, have completed field experince programs under public elementary school teachers, have professionally worked under the supervision of Fairfax County Public Schools as a High School AVID tutor (2018-2021), and have tutored elementary students (since 2019)
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Normally discussed with the students parents.
How did you get started teaching?
I was first asked by a family friend to tutor her son, and once I started I really enjoyed the experience and felt proud of the success that it led to for my student and myself. Not only was I able to contribute to a child's educational succes and allowing him to reach his full potential, but I also got to learn a lot about teaching and supporting the educational succes of a student. Which made me believe that this is something I would enjoy doing as a career.
What types of students have you worked with?
Over the past few years, I have worked with Kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, and High School students. In all core subjects.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One experience that I am really fond of and led me to decide my career choice was during my first field experience. I was in a first grade classroom and the students were all working on writing a set of words in different colors. While everyone was working their was this one student who was very focused on his work, however he accidentally used the wrong color. The student got so upset that he took his paper, crumbled it up, tossed it in the trash can, and went back to his desk with his head down. I approached the student to ask what's wrong he was very upset that he made a mistake and didn't like that, so I told the student, how it's okay to make mistakes and that it is what helps us learn better, but the student was so upset that he didn't want to listen. The teacher and my supervisor approached us and took the child to the mind growth chart where she explained to the student how hard work and mistakes together help the mind grow. The way she handled the situation and how the child became excited to try again, that he went back to the trash can picked up his crumbled paper and started working again, made me realize that being a teacher is not only about helping students with education, but also helping them know their capabilities and believing themselves to beome successful.
