Anne Rehill K-12 Tutoring
About
Hi everyone! I am a freshman at the University of Michigan studying computer science. I am an avid member of my school's volunteer tutoring program and have helped elementary and middle schoolers on a weekly basis for many years. I have just recently started to offer my tutoring services professionally, and my favorite part is when students finally click with a concept they are not getting.
In high school, I took 7 AP courses across all subjects to earn the AP Scholar with Distinction Award, including scoring a 5 on AP English Language, AP English Literature, and AP Environmental Science! I would say that English is a particular strength of mine, and I love to proofread essays and offer constructive feedback. I also would love to help students work on the AP English skills of how to build persuasive arguments and analyze given texts. Additionally, I scored highly on the ACT and SAT English and Reading, was a commended student in the National Merit Scholarship Competition for my high PSAT score, and wrote essays applying to colleges that earned a variety of merit awards so I can also help with the college admissions aspect of reading & writing!
I am also pursuing a minor in Spanish and took it all four years of high school, including AP Spanish my senior year. I earned a silver medal on the National Spanish Exam two years in a row and would love to help with Spanish if desired!
In terms of mathematics experience, I am well versed in elementary to middle school level math classes, Algebra I, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Statistics.
Please reach out with the subjects you are taking/interested in my help with! I prefer to meet via zoom, but am available to meet with students around the DC metro area in person any time through January 15th when I return to school. I am also open to group tutoring sessions if your student has a pod of classmates interested.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would like to get to know my students briefly and understand where they are at in their courses and what topics they are working with at the moment. I usually ask that if a student would like me to check their work with them, they should send it to me in advance so I can look it over before the session and find more information and approaches at how to look at the problems or work. Then during the session, I can help as they work through it, and we can conclude by reviewing the concept or trying new practice problems.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a recent high school graduate and earned straight A's in all of the subjects I offer, so I know the content and what teachers will expect from students! I have been through tutor training with one of the volunteer tutoring organizations I work with via my school in terms of making students comfortable, professionalism and privacy/internet safety, and encouraging students to learn concepts they're struggling with.
