As a teen I worked with after school programs. I enjoyed it so much that I decided that teaching was the life for me. I started taking educational courses in college to see if I would enjoy teaching and the rest is history.

Some people know content but do not understand how to communicate that information effectively. It is important that a tutor be approachable and that you can understand the information that they are presenting.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They need to know and say exactly what concepts they are struggling with.
Often students are afraid to ask for help because they are afraid of being wrong and it compounds over time until they are totally lost.
