Maya Martineli Van Leuven

Hi! My name is Maya, and I'm a sophomore at the University of Utah majoring in Political Science with a minor in Spanish. I'm fluent in Spanish and love helping students build confidence in reading, writing, history, and Spanish. I'm patient, responsible, and great at explaining concepts in ways that are easy for kids to understand.

I have extensive experience working with children through nannying, volunteering weekly in my younger sister's elementary school classroom, and coaching youth lacrosse. I enjoy creating a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to help them develop confidence and a genuine love of learning.
