Organic Chemistry And Biochemistry Tutoring
About
Hi! I'm Emily! I love learning and I especially love the sciences. I'm currently a junior at BYU majoring in Neuroscience. I always hope my love for learning will spread to the students I teach, because I know that will be the biggest asset to them.
While I was in high school, I found a love for teaching as I taught swim lessons for three years. I also spent several months teaching children to read, and while in college I have spent time as a professor's assistant tutoring college students in organic chemistry. One of my favorite things in the world is watching people finally understand a concept--when the lightbulb switches on and their face lights up, whether that is understanding molecular orbital theory or the first time they swim across the pool by themselves--it's the same magic!
Feel free to message me with any questions you have, or to set up a lesson. I will respond within a few hours.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically, we will message back and forth to decide on a time and method that works best for them. If you are looking for help on a specific assignment I will ask for a copy beforehand, so that I can better use your time!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken many chemistry classes, including ones in organic chemistry and biochemistry. I also have spent time at my college helping students as a professor's assistant in organic chemistry.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $40 per hour. For group lessons I charge $30 per participant.
How did you get started teaching?
I started by spending a lot of time working with children, teaching them how to read as well as swim lessons. In college I started tutoring other students, both as a professor's assistant and on my own.
