About

With over 20 years as a professional graphic artist and designer, I bring deep, hands-on experience across traditional and digital media to every lesson. With over 10+ years I have taught individuals and groups from 5k up. I love teaching and helping students develop and express their artistic skills.

Specialize in graphic design, illustration, comic books, character and game design, storyboarding, murals, and architectural 2D/3D renderings — skills I’ve applied in both leadership and collaborative roles to guide projects from concept to completion.

Why I’m a good teacher

Real-world experience: Two decades of professional practice means I teach techniques and workflows that are current, practical, and industry-tested.

Project-focused learning: I emphasize hands-on assignments (character sheets, comic pages, storyboards, branding mockups, renderings) so students build a portfolio of real deliverables.

Flexible pedagogy: I adapt lessons to each student’s goals — whether portfolio development, game-art pipelines, sequential storytelling, or mastering prepress and production-ready files.

Clear process teaching: I break complex workflows into manageable stages: research/mood, thumbnails, refined sketches, color/composition, and final output — mirroring professional pipelines.

Technical and creative balance: I teach both artistic fundamentals (figure, composition, color, storytelling) and technical skills (file management, CMYK conversion, layered PSDs, render passes) so students create work that looks great and prints/runs correctly.

Mentorship mindset: I provide constructive critiques, actionable feedback, and strategic advice on career steps like freelancing, pitching, and collaborating with art directors.
