I love working with a wide variety of writers (college, high school, adults, English Language Learners, professional writers, beginners, intermediate, or advanced.) I foster a nurturing, non-judgmental, and responsive learning environment. I believe that all writers have something important to say. I love helping writers in small groups or in a one-on-one setting. Students progress so quickly with concentrated attention and support.

With over 30 years of teaching literature, college writing, and creative writing at high school, college, and graduate levels. I have honed a technique that has a nearly foolproof way to help students/writers become wonderful communicators, and to develop the skills needed to tell their own stories in their ow way!

I hold an MFA in Fiction Writing from Mills College in Oakland, California and a PhD from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. I
