About

I am passionate about learning, and firmly believe that everyone has the ability to grow academically. Every learner is unique, and sometimes a different voice, perspective, or extra time is all that is needed for a student to reach their potential. I strive to help students recognize their potential by making real world connections between them and what they are learning.

I have been working with students in a vareity of capacities for 5+ years. I specialize in helping elementary school students see growth in math, reading, and writing.

I am a certified elementary school teacher, and have experience working with students from preK-6th grade. I have a bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University, and minored in teaching English language learners.

I love to learn and firmly believe that EVERYONE has the ability to learn! Sometimes we just need a little help.

Frequently asked questions

Before our first meeting, I would like to hear from you (the parents), about your concerns, goals, and expectations via email or phone call. This allows me to focus on getting to know your student's interests, attitudes towards learning, and building a connection with them during our first meeting.

I will then administer a few short assessments in the areas that they are struggling in to help me plan for future sessions. This could look like having your student read a short story outloud, having them walk me through a math problem, or doing a short writing activity, depending on the areas they are struggling with. This allows me to create a highly individualized experience for your student so they can make progress as quickely as possible.

I have a bachelors degree from Brigham Young University in Elementary Education, with a minor in teaching English language learners.

I taught 6th grade before becoming a stay at home mom. I have worked with all ages between preK and 8th grade, inculding English language learners and students with special needs.

I charge $30 per 45 minute session. This fee includes the time I spend preparing outside of the session.

There is no commitment, and if you are not satisfied with the first session, the session fee will be waived.

Find someone who is comfortable working with you and your student's teachers for optimal growth! As a teacher, I can help you know what questions you need to ask your child's current teacher, and the potential resources that they will have available on their end.
