Sometimes teachers struggle to come down to your level of understanding. I have had both amazing and not-so-amazing teachers, and the best ones always knew how bring the concpets to my level. Catering to the student's need is my highest priority!
I have extensive experience tutoring different levels of math at the BYU Math Lab and private students as well. Whether it is basic math or calculus, I have experience with it. I have done math at BYU for 3 years.
I really love teaching! As one who can empathize with the student, I really try to figure out what the student needs. It's really gratifying when a concept clicks or the student improves.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In general, the student already has some concepts they are struggling with as well as materials to work with. Sometimes these struggles have deeper roots that are not immediately apparent. As we go through homework problems and topics, I like to incorporate several different learning styles to help the student understand the underlying concepts as well as tips and tricks to succeed in math.
It is very helpful for the student to have notes, textbook, or other relevant learning material ready so I can know what tools the student is expected to work with and the scope of their studies.
I also enjoy creating and finding example problems to help target the underlying struggle of a problem and help the student actually understand what they are doing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Minor in mathematics at BYU, former BYU Math Lab tutor, and have privately tutored several students who went on to pass their coursework and AP exams
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
