Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I love to meet with my students and learn about their interests. I like to understand the best way that they learn. I want to do what is best for them and help them grow in the best way they feel comfortable.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have years worth of both educational and professional experience in my work.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I do not have a standard pricing system in place at the moment, besides charging hourly. It depends on my students.
How did you get started teaching?
I have always loved teaching and helping others grow and learn. I have been a tutor in high school and college and have helped tutor those around me in my professional experience.
What types of students have you worked with?
Mostly students younger than me or around my age. I have taught people who are quite a bit older and younger, but not as much.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I really loved traveling to Hawaii with my family for New Year's. I had never been before and I enjoyed the cultural experience a lot, as well as spending time with my siblings and parents.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who is going to work with you and work around what you need. Find someone who is going to push you, but also understand when a concept is difficult to grasp. Find someone who is friendly and understanding towards you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They should think about what resources they do and do not have. They can think about what they're looking for in a teacher and tutor. They can think about how they learn, and what environment fits them the best for learning.
