Kat Thompson

I'm an entrepreneur with a passion for coaching and tutoring on the side. I'm a big believer that not everyone learns in the same way, and sometimes a student needs a different approach than is given by a teacher in a classroom. Part of my strategy is to get to know the student well, conduct a learning style assessment, and build / adapt my coaching strategy to fit what works for the student. This is what makes me unique from many tutoring programs that are highly structured with one method and standard content.

I have an MBA from Cornell University and a Bachelors in Business from Rhodes College. I am fluent in Spanish, and can assist with a variety of subjects across grade levels K-12 & college: math, grammar & writing, Spanish, business, economics, finance & accounting, SAT and GMAT test prep, college prep, and reading. Though not formally trained, I also have experience working with ADHD/ADD students to provide tips and compassionate support.

Currently, I have two kids that are keeping me well-versed in the K-4th grade curriculum. I'm accepting of parent feedback, and greatly care about ensuring there is success as sessions progress.

Scheduling: My flexible schedule enables me to tutor during afternoons & weekends. Appointments are easy to set up for in person or remote tutoring.
