About

Hi, my name is Ali! As a fourth year college student who struggled through high school and the first year of college, I have become passionate about helping others (specifically kids) succeed! I am majoring in psychology with hopes of attending medical school once I obtain my bachelors. For me, it has been a journey to get to where I am academically. I personally can understand the feeling of wanting to live up to true potential, and not knowing how. This has given me the heart for helping others find that potential within themselves, and feel not only encouraged, but also capable.

I have nannied and babysat for four years, as well as have five younger siblings. In addition, I previously have worked at a team building facility as a student facilitator, primarily working with middle school and high school students! Although my job was to teach communication, I also learned how to be a better communicator and how to navigate how children learn best. Through my experience both facilitating and nannying, I have learned different learning styles, and the process of finding the best course of navigation. We are all unique and have our own brains that work differently, which is important to understand when learning how you learn best!

In addition, I have experience with kids who are neurodivergent (ADHD and Autism). I am especially comfortable with kids who have ADHD, as I myself have learned to navigate my own ADHD and how it impacts academics. I know the struggle and the stigma. I also know that ADHD is not a weakness, but rather an enforcer of creativity. Therefore, I have compassion towards those who struggle because their brains simply work differently, and understand how to navigate this creative difference!

I am willing to work with all ages (as long as it falls within my skill level), but have the most experience with first grade through middle school!

Frequently asked questions

My process for working with a new student always begins with getting to know the student. Just by getting to know the basics of someone, you learn many different aspects of their personality. This includes what motivates them, whether they are more creative or analytical, etc. From there, it becomes easier to dicate the best course of action!

I am a college student majoring in psychology. I have been through the rough years of elementary through high school, and have learned through my personal experience.

I also have experience with children through nannying and through facilitating at a team building facility.
