About
I love Mathematics and teaching Mathematics, which motivated me to pursue a PhD degree in the subject. During my graduate study at Duke University, I served as a teaching assistant and taught as an instructor of record in Single Variable Calculus, Multivariable Calculus for Economists, Probability, Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations, and Matrix Algebra courses. In both roles, I always found my joy and happiness in assisting students to succeed in their studies. Students’ success is my ultimate goal in teaching.
As a then-student and an instructor, I have experienced and learned what it likes to not be able to fully understand a mathematical concept, to not be able to finish an assignment, or to receive an exam grade that is not as good as expected. To best help students achieve their goals, I first want to know their learning habits, struggles, and needs; then I can utilize my knowledge coupled with experience to guide them through the challenge.
As an instructor, I love to see students’ satisfaction and success in their learning. I enjoy the moment when ideas become clear for students; especially when students are delighted in understanding new concepts and techniques and being able to apply them and improve their problem-solving skills. As a mathematician, I enjoy sharing and conveying the power and beauty of mathematics to students and others.
I have tutored SAT, DAT, TSIA2, Pre AP-Geometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, Calculus, and Differential Equations for students from tutors.com.

I'd like to set up a free consultation meeting with a new student so that we can get to know each other as well as to address the student's needs and my offer, and make a study plan moving forward. I am also happy to do a study section demo during the consultation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned a PhD in mathematics from Duke University, and I am a math instructor.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
No.
How did you get started teaching?
I worked as a tutor and a Teaching Assistant when I was an undergraduate student. Afterward, teaching has become an essential part of my graduate study and also my career.
What types of students have you worked with?
Elementary, middle school, high school, and college students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
During the pandemic, I have experienced a transition in teaching modalities, from traditional face-to-face meetings to hybrid and fully online settings, which has caused my interest in being an online tutor.
