Education One provides personalized tutoring programs for students who want to catch up or get ahead in their education. We provide high quality and personalized test-prep, subject tutoring and academic counseling to students of grades K-12.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We offer a free consultation and assessment to all of our new students so that we can get an idea of both where they are and where they want to be academically. This minimizes time wasted for our students and tutors, which allows both to focus on the student's needs immediately.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our tutors hold bachelor's degrees, and they have passed rigorous testing to ensure their qualifications to teach their subjects. Our tutors are passionate and experienced educators, often coming from sectors as diverse as business, law, engineering, and journalism and bringing their knowledge and expertise to teach students proven methods that work in finding academic success.

How did you get started teaching?
We have operated different tutoring services since 2005, and Education One is our new endeavour to help students receive the personalized assistance they need to reach their potential. We use a variety of our own curriculum and student's materials that fill the needs of all students.
What types of students have you worked with?
We work with all students grades K-12 and even some university and postgraduate students. Our students can vary between those who want to catch up with school or get ahead. Our test prep programs have helped students improve their scores on many tests including the GT Test, ISEE/SSAT, ACT/SAT, state tests, AP's, and many others.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
We think that students are often not thought of hollistically. Especially in the school system where there are often too many students for teachers to worry about. Look for a tutor that can provide you with a personalized education plan to accomplish the goals that you want to accomplish and that can give you a personalized approach that can tackle weaknesses from different angles.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students may not yet know all the answers to these questions, but they should start thinking about what they want. They should ask themselves:
• What are my objectives in getting tutoring?
• What are my areas of weakness? What are my areas of Strength?
• What are the expectations of myself?
• Am I doing all that I can to be successful?
Thinking about these questions will help students better understand what their needs are as they come to tutoring, and it will maximize their productivity as they work with their new tutor.
