About
Hello! My name is Andrew. Thank you for taking the time to read about me and know me better. I have been tutoring math for over 10 years! I have been a tutor, Assistant Center Director, and Center Director at Mathnasium. I have taught students of all ages and helped many succeed in Math. I am very patient and considerate; my priority is to make sure you understand what you are learning. I don't just give the answer, I help you come to the answer yourself. I teach elementary math, middle school math, high school and college math (Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and more!). I help with Standardize Testing and Entrance Exams.
Reach out and try a lesson with me, I assure you that you will not be disappointed!
I love math and enjoy helping students make sense of these complicated problems. The Aha! moment they get really puts the biggest smile on my face. I love coming across all of the different math problems teachers give students and helping the students work through them. I don't like giving the students the answer; I help the students arrive to the answer themselves. I've been tutoring for over a decade and I love every minute of it!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I get to know the student a bit more, break the ice. I ask how they are feeling about their math and what kinds of difficulty have they been having. When going over their work, I don't just teach and give them the answer. I walk them through it, ask them questions, get their mind working. I help them come to the answer themselves. If the topic is completely new, then I will directly teach and demonstrate the process. After, I help them develop the tools and know-how to tackle these problems themselves.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.S. in Computer Science with a minor in Math. I have taken many courses in Math: Calculus I-III, Differential Equations, Probability, Statistics, Finite Math, and more!
I have worked at Mathnasium, the Math Learning Center for around a decade. I have started as a tutor, instructing many students of different ages. I have worked as an Assistant Center Director and a Center Director. I have taught math to many students during my various roles and my appreciation for math and the job of teaching have grown more ever since.
I am currently a Software Developer. I love creating programs, solving problems, and learning new technologies. The things I love best about my job is how math is so involved in it. You use a lot of logic and problem solving to get to the solution. Like math, there can be many ways to solve one problem.
I hope to share my passion in math and computer programming with those who enjoy it and with those who may not see the fun in them yet!
