I have a background in educating children for 6 years. I started working in childcare for 2years and further moved into working as a paraprofessional in special education for Katy Independent School District for 4 years. My heart for working alongside children with learning disabilities grew so much I stuck with them every year and never switched over to another class. Outside of working as a paraprofessional I also did academic coaching at a center during after school hours, holiday breaks, and summer breaks. Working in small groups and one on one sessions not only benefited the child but also myself. The time, patience, and guidance I had with each child made a big difference. I understand and I take it as my responsibility as an educator that every child learns at a different pace and processes information at different capacities. When working with a child, they will understand that I can identify the frustrations and discouragement that they may feel but we're going to get through this together. I will identify your challenges, formulate lesson plans and activities that match your learning style, and build you up to succeed.

Consistency and patience results in success. After the amount of time I have had with students not only did their academic skills improve, but also their social emotional skills. Witnessing the blossoming of a child that once felt discouraged and had learning challenges and emerge into someone that is now confident and tackled those challenges with confidence is the reward for me. I love what I do due to these experiences and relationships.
