Hello, my name is Rob. I graduated high school from Monterey High School in Monterey California with Honors. I further continued my education at Arizona State University and ascertained my degree in Economics. I started my career in banking at the same time working in back office fraud. I graduated with Honors in 2012. In 2020 I decided to continue my education in Information Analysis with a minor in Forensic Accounting from Indiana State University. I am a certified Anti-Money Laundering and Fraud Investigator. I got my certifications through ACAMS. I am also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
I excelled highly at math, statistics, and finance throughout school. I greatly enjoyed learning subjects that have a solution to the problem at hand and a process to solve. I have a significant amount of experience coaching and tutoring subjects such as math, algebra, calculus, pre-calcululs, test prep, trigonometry, statistics, microeconomics, macroeconomics, finance, business finance, and geometry. I now am still employed at a bank where I work on a team in the AML/BSA department. Our work includes deploying fraud prevention and mitigation strategies to detect, deter, and mitigate organized money laundering by larger crime syndicates and cartels.
I currently tutor with my extra time online. I teach anywhere from k-12, high school, and college level. I tend to stay more towards the online tutoring due to a recent heart transplant. I like to take both a visual and verbal approach to tutoring. Growing up I sometimes struggled with classes that were solely auditory and had no visual representations to aid me through my studies. I use my struggles in the past to help me ascertain the students most needed learning styles in order to accommodate everyone. I require the subject matter ahead of time and write out a plan containing the outline of our session in a document and send it to the student so they may have it as we speak.
