Alfonso Kamel Math Tutoring
About
I am an engineering student at Trinity University. I am 20 years old and I have always helped my friends and siblings with math and some science. I like to help people understand things and I believe I am knowledgeable enough in middle school and highschool math to be able to do that well.
Since I am an engineering student, I have taken many math courses and also have had to apply mathematics to a lot of the other courses I've taken. I have found that I really love doing and learning math when I truly understand the problem and how to solve it, and I would like to foster that love for math by helping other people understand it too.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically would ask that a student emails or texts me the specific problems or concepts that they are having trouble with throughout the week or at least a day before our session, so that I have some time to look over them and prepare to ensure that our session time is spent efficiently.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently a Junior engineering student at Trinity University, so I use various levels of math in most of my classes.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Currently, I can only offer online sessions over video conferencing at a rate of $18 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I've helped my friends and family with their math or math-based courses since I was in high school. However, since I started studying engineering, I am more confident in my ability to tutor professionally.
What types of students have you worked with?
Although I do not have professional experience tutoring yet, I have helped my friends and my dyslexic brother with high school and some college math.
