About

Galerston Historical Learning is optimized to teach students how to tackle schoolwork and to learn not just the basics of history but how to think historically. At Galerston Historical Learning, we focus less on rote memorization and more on what we call "doing history". We focus on teaching the craft of history, not just the important information. We focus on critical thinking, the usage and understanding of historical sources, and the formation and defense of theses.

My name is Kyle Galerston. I am the founder of Galerston Historical Learning. I am a masters student at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I have a bachelors in History as well as one in Russian language from Trinity University. As a graduate student, I am focusing on my teaching and am on track to complete my masters degree next year and begin teaching full time.

I have been tutoring history for most of my life now. I started when I was in middle school by helping my younger sister with her social studies homework. From there I started helping friends, other family and anyone who needed help. This is not only something I have been doing for a long time but also a deep passion of mine. The study of history is something I hold very dear and is something I am extremely excited to help students understand and appreciate.
