Why I teach?
Eureka!
The glint in the eyes of a student when they "get it" because I know I have achieved my objectives and the student has grown as a person. My role is for the student to discover the best version of themselves—the person they want to be.
I have over twenty-five years of experience from the USA and abroad in many teaching capacities, so I proffer a variety of teaching and learning styles. Having taught CEOs to Kindergartners, I have an acute awareness of how to overcome learning obstacles within each culture. My approach is more organic, constructive, facilitative with an extensive knowledge of communication and technical writing to help any student excel. As well, I have breadth and depth of test preparation strategies in multiple standardised testing formats (IELTS, TOEFL, LSAT, SAT, ACT, WIDA, STAR, etc.).
I think the most important aspect of my teaching is a holistic approach because skills work in unison with strengths and weaknesses, so I addresses each student at their level from their cultural background. I build rapport. I engage. I challenge, support, and scaffold.
I am not an edu-tainer. I am an educator.
