After 30 years in media production, I changed careers and became a classroom teacher through an alternative certification program in Texas. I hold these certifications currently: Generalist 4-8, Social Studies 8-12, Journalism 7-12, and ESL Supplemental 4-12. I recently retired from the classroom, but want to continue my ties to education. The bulk of my classroom experience is with students that have learning differences such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and executive functioning difficulties. I have specialized in working with students on an individual basis and delivering instructions based on their learning styles.

With nine years of direct classroom experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for teaching urban youth. I graduated from Hampton University with a degree in Business Administration, focusing on accounting. However, my journey took a turn when I realized my true calling was in education. I am certified in 4-8 grade mathematics and have dedicated my career to helping students build strong mathematical foundations. My tutoring services are designed to meet each student where they are, tailoring strategies to help them grasp mathematical concepts effectively. I customize my lessons to each student's needs and goals in order to help them achieve the best results possible. I will travel to my student's location - my lessons take place at my student's home or workplace or a convenient public location. I have worked with students in my area and online since 2004.
