I am a committed teacher with about 6 years of experience coordinating EFL programs, managing educational resources, and University administrative and academic processes of extension and continuing education programs. Simultaneously, I have about 5 years of teaching experience as an English as a Foreign Language and Spanish as a Foreign Language teacher to children, adolescents and adults of different levels. I hold a BA in teaching foreign languages, MA in teaching Spanish as a foreign Language, and a posgraduate diploma in teaching English as a foreing language. I consider myself organized, strategic, responsible and enthusiast for work. I strive for developing critical thinking and autonomy.
Besides developing all linguistic skills to communicate effectively in Spanish, I also strive for raising cross-cultural awareness and respect and developing critical thinking, by exposing students to realities different from theirs, having them interact with different viewpoints and helping them become sensitive to new worlds. To contribute to this end, I like to display as many Spanish cultural references as possible.

I am passionate about languages and cultures; and as a teacher, I feel motivated when seeing students gaining appreciation for a culture different than theirs, with as much respect as their own. I enjoy seeing students using the language for real life tasks and when they feel proud they're improving their skills step by step.
Susana has helped me improve my writing skills in Spanish. She also makes me feel comfortable, which makes me confident even when I do make mistakes! Her flexibility is great as well. Overall, she’s amazing. I would recommend all the time!
Susana is great! I am working with her to supplement my college spanish classes. It has been a great experience and I have even enlisted her to help teach my 5 year old daughter as well. She loves her spanish classes! I would highly recommend Spanish with Susana for your language learning needs.
Susana is patient! She actually takes the time to make sure you understand and never rushes you. She’s also kind and I am comfortable with her. It takes me a while to warm up when I start new things, but I always look forward to our lessons. She’s also helpful, when I’m stuck or have questions she provides resources that help. I could go on and on, but overall she’s a great tutor.
Usually I start by asking what's his/her purpose to learn Spanish/English, because that will give me important information to lead the class later. It is also important to know what previous experience or knowledge the student has with the language, and the situations or fields she/he might use it for his/her life. Once I get to know that information, I usually run a diagnosis activity to check student's ability in the language, that would help plan future classes. The process continues every class by giving student material to work by him/her self.
