About

I’m a native speaker with 30 years of combined experience( tutoring and teaching ). I customize lesson plans for each student based on the student's learning style and strongly emphasize filling out any gaps that the student may have from a previous year.

Tutoring to me is a joint effort of the student, the parent's support, and the tutor. I always maintain open communication with parents and keep them well-informed of the student's progress.

Students achieve excellent results in a short period with me and there is a reason why I have a solid reputation in the area.

    Sra Forster is an amazing, passionate, and effective teacher! She has a unique way of motivating and inspiring the students to do their best. My son has increased significantly in his fluency since he started working with her and also has become much more confident in his schoolwork resulting in much better grades. She is very clear in her communication and expectations with both the student and the parents. She is also very responsive, which is important to our family. After the intro class, my son was sold on working with her. Her clear expectation setting might be perceived as a little strict, but we welcome it since it helps the student do better! She truly cares for the overall wellbeing of her students well beyond just the material that she is responsible for. Highly recommend her to anyone who wants a driven and effective teacher!

    Sra Forster is an amazingly passionate and effective teacher. She can motivate and inspire students to do their best. My son has increased his Spanish fluency since he started working with her. He is also feeling much more confident in his schoolwork for the AP-level Spanish class. She is also very clear in communicating expectations with the student and the parents. She might come across as a little strict, but it comes from a place of wanting academic excellence, and we totally welcome it!     Sra. Forster was my Spanish tutor from 2012-2014. During this time I was taking AP Spanish Language and AP Spanish Literature. In order to get better at the speaking aspect of Spanish, I got in touch with Sra. Forster, as I did not have any native Spanish speakers in my immediate friends/family circle. My experience with Sra. Forster helped me achieve my goals of scoring well on my AP exams, and ensuring that I had a solid understanding of written and verbal Spanish. To this day, I am able to read and write in Spanish. I would highly recommend Sra. Forster for students interested in furthering their Spanish beyond what is required for class and for those who need help with learning the fundamentals. Sra. Forster is very enthusiastic and upbeat in her teaching style and I would highly recommend her as a tutor and teacher.

    Frequently asked questions

    I like to meet with the student first via zoom for 20 minutes ( free of charge )so we can get to know each other and for me to do an informal diagnosis of the student's level to assess any gaps that the student may have and create a plan of improvement with reasonable timelines.

    *After that complimentary meeting , I give my feedback to both the student and the parent.

    **I do NOT teach adults(only if it is College level Spanish ). I teach middle school , highschool and college level . 

    I have a Bachelors degree as well as a Master's degree( MBA)

    I do have a standard pricing based on the level that the student is/ will take in school and also based on the number of classes that the student wishes to commit to . 

    I started teaching and tutoring Spanish since I was a college student 30 yrs ago. Teaching Spanish to Executives of major U.S. corporations in Houston and law firms 
    Then later on in life after I had 2 wonderful daughters, I decided to be a stay at home mom and during my spare time I started tutoring and teaching middle school , highschool and college students since 25 years ago.

    I have worked with ALL types of students from diverse backgrounds that attend both public schools and private schools.

    I had a student taking Spanish 2 at a private Christian school. When I started tutoring the student, he was failing tests. After 2 months of tutoring him biweekly, the student is getting scores of 90 and above on every single assessment and can understand and form complex sentences.   As a tutor, there is no greater joy than seeing a student have such a dramatic improvement in such a short time under my guidance and with their hard work !!! 

    Confirm the years of experience that the tutor has. Talk to his/ her previous students and parents. But most importantly, confirm that the tutor is a native speaker .
