Test Prep Tutor
About
I am a recent college graduate passionate about helping other students achieve their academic goals. I have been tutoring students for 3 years now, primarily for ACT preparation across all 4 subjects. I've helped students meet a variety of goals, including qualifying for scholarships and even achieving a perfect score. I graduated from Vanderbilt University though the honors program, double-majoring in Neuroscience and Political Science, and I will be entering the University of Texas-Austin Law school in the fall of 2020.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When beginning work with a new student, we usually start by identifying content areas that provide the most difficulty. We then breakdown the concepts, practice them, and then practice them in the context of official practice tests. After content mastery has been improved, we transition into general test-taking skills and timing, if applicable.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have tutored students from all different backgrounds and starting levels for the past 3 years through Varsity Tutors.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I worked with a student recently who needed to score a composite 32 on her ACT in order to qualify for a full-tuition scholarship at her college of choice. She had gone through 5 different tutors and taken the ACT 8 times before working with me. It was so rewarding to see all of her hard work and dedication pay off, and she was able to achieve her goal score on the next test that she took. It's examples like this that really remind me how meaningful and rewarding tutoring can be for everyone involved.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise hiring a tutor who is able to relate to the student on a personal level. Test preparation can be a strenuous and timely process, and it's important that the student is comfortable with the tutor and can fully be themselves during their lessons.
