Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Firstly meet and talk a bit about each other. Then see what the client specifically wants to focus on, be it conversational Spanish, grammar, etc, And take it from there. After our first tutoring session, I will further asses the lesson, to plan our next one.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I taught 12 years for Dallas ISD, and I have tutored music, languages, specifically English and Spanish. I can implement a personalized lesson plan for the particular client that both the student and I can agree on. As I minored in Spanish at the University of North Texas, I have mastered grammar, and I also am familiar with Latin American and Spanish literature.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
WE can work it out, depending on the logistics and time required.

I have tutored since I was in high school as I was lucky to take high physics and Math courses. I tutored Algebra and Geometry then. I've taught 4 yr olds to 60 yr youngsters with all types of backgrounds.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My 7 yr old son just had a Memorial Day event at his Elementary School honoring his grandpa.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Ideally, I suggest someone bilingual like me. It helps to expalin particulars of the language. But definitely someone with academic credentials.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They should ask themselves what is/are the most essential need(s) he/she needs help with. Then what is something they would like to explore about this beautiful language. I believe keeping a balance of work and fun is always better.
