Additionally, I have worked as a laboratory technician in both clinical and academic labs with a focus on molecular genetics/cytogenetics. I have a strong passion for science and am dedicated to you achieving both your short term and long term goals. Whether it's doing well in your STEM course or mastering topics necessary for the MCAT, I will tailor my services to your needs and ensure you exceed the goals you have set for yourself. Feel free to reach out if you would like to engage in remote tutoring sessions to better prepare you for your next steps.

I am both culturally component, responsive to the needs of the clients and I strive to make sure students exceed the goals set for themselves. I am patient and like to create new ways in which to teach historically difficult concepts and I tailor my lessons such that the student is able to maximize the time spent so they will leave their sessions confident in their abilities. I guarantee at least an entire letter grade improvement after 5 sessions attended. I am passionate for the topics I tutor and I hope to instill similar confidence and clarity in you.

    Frequently asked questions

Identifying your learning style is paramount to your success. I get to know the student and what works best for them in terms of learning and teaching styles and take time to understand the expectations set by the student. Furthermore, we discuss short and long term goals and then I select content for both in-session practice and at home self-guided learning. Lastly, periodic reviews of the level of mastery on topics relevant to student's desired outcomes is done routinely to determine if remediation is necessary to guarantee critical thinking skills and full comprehension of the materials.

I have two years' experience working as a Supplemental Instructor and Teaching Assistant at University of Houston for the Chemistry department. I have a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Biology (Magna Cum Laude) that was obtained in 2020. Furthermore, I have worked as a lab technician in molecular and cytogenetics for 3 years, along with positions as a lab assistant for both HCC and Lone Star College System totaling 5+ years working in STEM fields.

30 dollars for one hour session. Every fourth lesson purchased is free for the student. Specific problem assistance via e-mail or text is available to any student free who has purchased a lesson no more than 48 hours since inital post. Step by step instructions provided for specific problem help submitted via e-mail/text/direct message.

I got started teaching initially because my passion for learning as a student spilled over in such a way that I would help my peers if they requested I do so. I found that I enjoyed getting to connect with people to help them learn about something I was passionate about without the intimidation or formality that is often part of a traditional professor-student type setting. A position as a teaching assistant became available and so I chose to assume that role because it provided the opportunity for me to continue to help my peers in a role that preserved the relaxed and open environment we had acquired as initially friends. Furthermore, it was a natural progression of responsibility and my duties at a time when I spent the majority of my day at the institution pursuing my own educational pursuits. This is why my students would attest to being treated  like equals during our sessions while still maintaining a standard of professionalism.

I consider myself as unique and different. I see every person in that same light and thus, I encourage and benefit by working with all types of people. I can help you with concepts you might struggle with and at the same time, I am afforded the privilege of getting to know the individual and what makes them special and valued as they themselves work towards their own goals. No matter an individuals race, gender, ethnicity, personality, temperament, beliefs or any other facet of their individual experience, I believe everyone deserves respect and understanding and I strive to continually ensure the services I provide are cognizant and respectful of the complexities of one's values.

If you are looking for a comfortable but rewarding and constructive tutoring experience where your educational needs are met, do not hesitate to contact me. You can and will meet your desired outcome.
