Elite English Tutoring
About
Hi everyone,
My name is Tony Tennison, and I’m excited to be your English teacher this year. I’ve been teaching English for 11 years here in Dallas ISD. I have a degree in English and Literature, and I’ve taught English I, II, III, and IV to students from freshman through senior year. I’ve also taught ESL and developmental reading, so I understand that every student comes in with different strengths—and that’s something I take seriously.
In my class, you can expect structure, consistency, and support. I’ll always be clear about what I expect, and I’ll challenge you to think, write, and grow. I’m not looking for perfection, but I do expect effort. If you show up ready to try, I’ll make sure you have what you need to succeed.
Respect is a big deal in my classroom. I’ll respect you, and I expect the same in return—for me and for your classmates. This is a space where your ideas matter, and where we’re going to build skills that go beyond just passing a class.
I believe I’ll do an excellent job because I care about what I do, and I don’t give up on my students. I’ve worked with all types of learners, and I’m committed to helping each of you improve.
I’m looking forward to a great year with you all.
