About
I have taught math in public schools since August 2005 and have tutored math in some capacity since 1993. My speciality is high school math and test prep, but I have helped students with everything from 1st grade math to college statistics. As a tutor, I am there to help build the confidence of the student en route to what they are trying to achieve. I look forward to helping more students get there!
I have been named a STAR educator for Cedar Hill ISD (2015) and the April 2016 Teacher of the Month for Duncanville ISD.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask a couple of questions of the student to get to know him or her. This helps me determine the approach to help the student. Then we get into the work at hand, whether it is a homework assingment or a test review.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a math teacher in public schools since August 2005. I taught 6th grade math my first year and then high school level since then. My teaching career has been spent mostly teaching either Algebra 1 or Geometry, but I did teach Algebra 2 for a couple of years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing: $45 - $50/hour for
Algebra 2 and under
$45 - $55/hour for Pre-Cal and above
$45 - $50/hour for test prep
My rates are always negotiable.
How did you get started teaching?
I was given an opportunity to teach by a church member that has known me since I was born as she became a principal for the school I eventually started. She knew that I had tutored for years and needed a math teacher. That was 6th grade math I taught my first year.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from 1st grade up to the college-level. I have had students that were gifted and talented, special ed, and homebound from school.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A student that I had worked with since Algebra 1 (when he was in 9th grade) has just completed his first semester of college! He made a solid B in his college algebra class and he was so happy to get that.
