I've spent the last nine years bettering myself as an educator. I have a degree in Education and hundreds of hours of professional development in elementary education. I am experienced in helping struggling students meet school, state, and STAAR standards.
I love seeing the "lightbulb moment" when a concept that has previously been foreign becomes understandable!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin with a short preassessment to help me understand what a student already knows and which skills the student is lacking. I utilize this to plan my instruction. I begin with concrete, hands-on, and engaging instruction and slowly move to abstract instruction.
