What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I interview parents, students, and sometimes teachers to find out where the student needs to begin. Of course, I like to get to know the student, and find out what they are interested in.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified teacher. I have over 20 years of teaching/tutoring experience.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I generally charge $30-$35 per hour
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching in my 20's. I love to learn, and I started wanting to help others learn more.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all ages of children and adults. I also teach swimming lessons in the warmer months, and I branced out to teaching adults, and babies from time -to - time.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am a member of Toastmaster's International. I have learned more about being a better communicator.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I think a student should look for a teacher who has experience in the area which you are looking to learn more about. Your student and the teacher need to be able to get along and communicate well together.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It's helpful for a teacher to know what is promting you to want to get tutoring. It helps to know about what helps your child learn, and what doesen't help.
