Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Every student is different, the first and most important step is to help your student discover how they learn best. Sure, helping them master the contents of their next test is of the upmost importance. But giving them the skills that they need to excel on their own in the future is my greatest goal.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
3 years of relevant study at the college level
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The most qualified teacher might not be the best one for you. Anybody can know sciences. Knowing how to explain it in a patient way makes a world of difference.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The student should ask themselves what they want to gain from tutoring. Are they just looking for answers? Or are they looking to improve in a course or topic through hard work and guidance?
