The Science Of Life Tutoring
About
I have a Master of Science in Wildlife, Aquatic, and Wildlands Science and Management (a fancy term for "ecologist/wildlife biologist"). I am deeply committed to teaching the upcoming generation about the science of life, from basic plant and animal biology to advanced concepts in environmental science.
I have first-hand research/field work experience in several areas:
- Wetland ecology
- Plant physiology and ecology
- Restoration ecology
- Wildlife biology (particularly small mammals)
- Entomology (bugs!)
- Urban ecology
I love the direct impact that teaching life sciences can have. My teachers and tutors growing up influenced me in my education and career decisions and inspired me to work in a field that has tangible impacts on the world we live in.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
1. Getting to know them! I like to find out what they are interested in so that we can start drawing connections, as learning their personality and learning style.
2. Evaluating their strengths and weaknesses.
3. Formulating a roadmap to success.
4. When tutoring, we work on critical thinking skills instead of trying to hammer in rote memorization of information.
5. Constant assessment and re-evaluation of their knowledge on the subject, to better understand strengths and weaknesses in certain subject areas.
