I am certified as a secondary English teacher for the state of Texas. I also teach English, phonics, and reading online to children in other countries. I have been a teacher for more than 20 years for all levels: pre-kindergarten through college.
I most enjoy the light in the eyes of students who have felt that spark of learning and understanding. There is no feeling to compare with the joy of learning found by a student who may have had trouble earlier in their school careers.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first determine the level that the student is currently working on. I also try to determine their favorite personal interests to use as motivation. We then begin our work in earnest to improve the students abilities.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
i hold a BSed degree in secondary education (English, biology, earth science and life science). I also earned a MEd degree in curriculum and instruction. I also hold additional certifications (such as TESOL) that were earned in conjunction with my job teaching English online to children (primarily in China).

Most general subject tutoring sessions are $30 per one hour session.
