What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I assess the student with short testing, and listening for problem areas. After over 20 years, it's very easy to pick up on areas that need attention. Different native languages come with different pronunciation. Russian people don't use articles, most languages other than English, don't use modals/conditionals. The list is long and, it's really an easy fix.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Journalism and English Literature college background. Over 24 years here and abroad teaching ESL, ESOL. Compton Speech Method, American Accent Training Method certifications. I use speech therapy methods to help my students pronounce American English. TEFL certification from Oxford Institute in Milan, Italy, over 20 years experience.

I charge $45 per hour. The price can be negotiated depending on the amount of hours the students are taking.
I customize the lesson plans for each student depending on their native language, the way they learn, the areas of concern. I want them to reach their goals quickly, and I give them the tools to use after the course is finished.
How did you get started teaching?
I was asked to open the linguistics branch of Team97 in Milan, Italy due to my background in linguistics.
What types of students have you worked with?
Students at all levels. In Milan, at Wall Street Institute, we worked with all levels in class, small groups on the same level. At Oxford Institute, we worked directly with the companies and clients at their place of business. I have continued to do the same after I returned to America.
