Elementary Success
About
Having been an elementary school teacher at McNair Elementary in Denton,Texas for 31 years, I love my students and have lots of patience when working with them. We can go as slow as you need to go so that you will understand the concepts before we move on to something different.
I will try to tailor our tutoring sessions in segments so that you will know what to expect next. We will probably have a warm-up, a review, introduce more information, and then do a summary of what we've learned.
Learning is fun, and we can strengthen your skills and help you build new ones!
Experience:

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a brand new student, I like to assess what their skills already are and identify any gaps or areas of weakness. I also like to find out what their interests are so we can tie those in to lessons when possible. We are educating the whole child here so the emotional/intellectual component is important for them to be totally engaged.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BS in Elementary Education, and a minor in English
Reading intervention training
Gifted/talented training
