Additional Personalized Fee:
Travel Fee- There is a 25% of Hourly Rate for At-Home Tutoring.
Supply/Materials Fee- 5% of Hourly Rate.
Service Fee- Over the Session is charged per 7 minutes.
How did you get started teaching?
The joy of teaching is the most valued treasure there is. Teaching is a universal art. However learning is a very personal and individual process. Heritage Tutoring has the ability to bring out the best processing method and develop motivation.
What types of students have you worked with?
Heritage Tutoring works with all levels of students ranging from PK- 12 in all subject areas and learning personality types.
We also service students from ESL eligibility.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Heritage Tutoring has the sweetest memory of teaching a beginner reader to become an Early Reader who had no prior knowledge or concept of alphabets and letter connections.
Heritage Tutoring has also inspired a 7th Grader to have the confidence and believe that for him Math is an easy subject and he can master it.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It is important to have a clear focus, know the outcome and have the listening skills to follow through on the tutor instructions for a successful learning partnership.
It is good to ask questions to open the door for awareness and information.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The student or the family must have a clear purpose for tutor sessions and communicate the tutoring strategies that are effective and productive.
The student needs to be upfront and open about the not-so-strong areas of learning that are important to him or her.
