About
Not only was I a math teacher, I have worked as an Engineer for over 10 years, so I am able to relate math to the real world.
When I am working with younger clients or on more basic topics, I prefer to take a hands-on approach in reinforcing topics.
My favorite part of tutoring is making math relatable. For the most part, struggles with math topics come from them being explained using a way of thinking that the student doesn't relate to.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to talk to the parent and/or student to get an idea of goals. Normally, there is a curriculum that we are trying to stay in sync with, so I like to get an idea of the topics that we will be covering weekly in order to have some exercises prepared in advance.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a high school math teacher, with the appropriate certifications. In that time, I worked with all levels of students, in a wide range of topics from basic math concepts such as multiplication, division, and fractions to Geometry to Trigonometry and Calculus.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing varies based on complexity and whether the tutoring is online or there is travel involved.
How did you get started teaching?
It started with tutoring and teaching assistant jobs in high school and college. Once i graduated with engineering and computer science degrees, I realized that that I missed explaining a topic to people so that they went from confusion to understanding.
What types of students have you worked with?
I taught high school math, with a wide range of students from remidial Freshman courses to advanced Junior/Senior level courses.
I have tututored all ranges from elementary to high school, including SAT and standardized test prep.
